چکیده
This study was designed to investigate the effect of inorganic mercury (mercuric chloride) on biochemical, hematological parameters, and examining the histological changes in liver, and kidney tissues in male albino mice as a laboratory animal Model. The animals used for the sub-chronic study for mercuric chloride received 1/100 , 1/50, 1/20 and 1/10 of the calculated LD50 which were equivalent to 0.25, 0.5, 1.25, and 2.5 mg /kg respectively. At four concentrations, levels of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), urea and creatinine were high significantly increase in mice treated with HgCl2 compared with control group. Whereas, the parameters cholesterol, glutathione (GSH), total protein, hemoglobin (Hb), red blood cells (RBC), and white blood cells (WBC) were significantly decrease in examined samples for animals treated with HgCl2 as compared with control group. It can be concluded that the altered biochemical and hematological parameters can be used as efficient bioindicators on the toxicity of mercury. Also, Mercuric chloride induced various histological alterations in liver, and kidney of mice.

Assessment of Mercuric Chloride Intoxication in albino Rats on the Basis of Hepatobiochemistry, Serum Biochemistry, Histochemistry & Histopathologh
Background: Exposure to any xenobiotic can disturb the metabolic activities of particular organs. Hence present study is designed to find changes in hepatic biochemistry, histochemistry and histopathology besides serum enzyme levels after acute and sub-acute treatment with mercuric chloride, a heavy metallic compound, in albino rat (Rattus norvegicus). Materials & methods: Thirty albino rat...

Introduction: The fate of xenobiotics that is present, increasing day by day. The increasing fates altered or inhibit the metabolic activities like detoxification and biotransformation. Methods: The present study highlights this slow biotransformation and detoxification on the basis of specific enzymes which have a say in assessment of mercuric chloride toxicity and modulation by Panax ginse...

The present investigation has been undertaken to evaluate role of Wheat grass extract in modifying mercury-induced biochemical alterations in albino rats. Mercuric chloride 5 mg/kg body weight i.p. was given on 11, 13 & 15th day of the experiment. Wheat grass extract (400 mg/kg) and Quercetin (10 mg/kg) were administered 10 days before mercuric chloride administration and continued up to 30 day...

The acute and sub-acute toxicity of safranal were studied in rat and mice within 2 and 21 days after exposure, respectively. For subacute toxicity, changes in weight as well as biochemical, hematological and pathological parameters were studied. The intraperitoneal LD50 values of safranal were 1.48 mL/kg in male mice, 1.88 mL/kg in female mice and 1.50 mL/kg in male rats. Oral LD50 values were ...
